Liverpool were believed to be planning to sign a new goalkeeper after Mignolet’s mistake against Bordeaux in the Europa League, but The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he is going to offer a new deal to Belgian goalkeeper.
“I am satisfied with our goalkeeping situation. I am sorry to kill your stories about German goalkeepers and goalkeepers from Stoke. We are not looking for another goalkeeper. We have enough high-quality goalkeepers. I’ve had a lot of goalkeepers over the years, and Simon Mignolet is one of the smartest I have ever had. He is completely open and he’s young enough to develop and improve.” – said Jurgen Klopp
Belgian goalkeeper joined Liverpool in 2013 for a fee of £9m on a five-year deal and has the £60,000-a-week contract.
