The Blues have “no chance” of signing Gonzalo Higuain this summer, as his agent has confirmed that he will not be leaving Napoli.
The explosive South American striker has been in stunning form this season, scoring 26 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions, prompting speculation about his future.
As per the Daily Mail, The Blues made an approach to sign Higuain in January, but the deal was rejected by the Argentine international player.
Higuain’s agent and brother Nicolas has now rejected rumours of a summer move away from the Serie A side.
He told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via the Mail: “We have a contract and there’s no chance of playing elsewhere.
“When Gonzalo plays it’s normal that there’s a high chance of scoring goals, he’s having a great season.”
The former Real Madrid man is well on the way to achieving his best ever season personally, trailing only Barcelona’s Luis Suarez in the scoring charts for Europe’s top five divisions.
