According to the Italian website Calciomercato, Arsenal are eyeing Oostende left-back Jordan Lukaku, younger brother of Everton’s Romelu. The 21-year-old player has two caps for the Belgium national side and looks set to be included in Marc Wilmots’ Euro 2016 squad alongside his brother. Jordan has been progressing steadily since leaving Anderlecht for Oostende in 2013 and this season he has helped the club reach the Belgian championship playoffs. He grabbed an assisted for the Toffees striker in Belgium’s recent international friendly against Portugal. The pacy defender has made 27 appearances this season for Oostende and has had a hand in nine goals.
Nacho Monreal is currently Arsenal’s first-choice left-back, who has a strong back-up Kieran Gibbs and it’s less likely Arsene Wenger to bring an unproven player on that position.
In February, Jordan said he would be looking to move on from the Jupiler Pro League this summer, but it reminds to be seen if Arsenal will splash a cash for left-back, while their major priority is said to be striker, centre-back and a central-midfielder. Everton’s Romelu has recently expressed interest to play with his brother.
