According to Chilean paper AS, Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will be the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain this summer amid growing uncertainty surrounding his Gunners future. The France giants are preparing for life without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and considering Sanchez as Swede’s replacement.
The Chilean international has been in brilliant form for the Gunners since moving from Barcelona in 2014 in a £35m deal and has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season for Arsene Wenger’s side while assisting 11. The north London club is currently 11 points behind leaders Leicester City and four behind Tottenham Hotspur, albeit having a game in hand.
PSG are the club, who can provide almost everything that Alexis is lack at Emirates – higher salary and titles. Also the 27-year-old has recently admitted that his fear of getting injured has hampered his form for Arsenal this season. Sanchez, who can play on either side, would allow Edinson Cavani to operate through the middle while he can provide the attacking impetus from out wide. Also it’s widely believed that Laurent Blanc has a green light from club owners to sign at least one big name frontman and fill Zlatan’s space.
However, the Gunners are expected to offer Sanchez, as well as Mesut Ozil, an improved contract at the end of the season, but the France giants, who are financially very strong could make a huge bid that could be very difficult for Arsenal to refuse.
