According to AS Mexico, Manchester United are eyeing Mexican outfits Pachuca winger Hirving Lozano ahead of the summer transfer window. The report also suggests that United are also monitoring his teammates Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro, but Lozano is their priority.
The 20-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects in Latin America and already has made two appearances for his country, and along with the Red Devils other European clubs like Real Sociedad, PSV Eindhoven, Porto and Schalke 04 are all monitoring his progress.
Louis van Gaal previously admitted that he’s seeking to secure a winger in the summer window. That’s especially after they came up short in their pursuits of Pedro and Sadio Mane at the start of this season. While still young and untested at the very top level, Lozano does possess all the raw attributes to be a big star too, having been twice capped by Mexico and has had a hand in 18 goals this season.
United unearthed a gem in Javier Hernandez six years ago and with a knowledge of the country already established, finding another talent is no surprise. Pachuca club president Jesus Martinez has recently revealed: “They [United] are following our players, but especially Chucky [Lozano]. We would love it if he had to go that it would be to a team like Manchester United or Porto.”
