4-3-2-1: LEAKED England XI vs Slovakia – SIX Changes Made

The Sun have reported that this is the leaked England XI for tonight’s match vs Slovakia. The XI is made up of 1x Manchester City, 1x Manchester United, 1x Chelsea, 5x Liverpool, 1x Southampton, 1x Tottenham Hotspur, & 1x Arsenal players.

Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Nathaniel Clyne are both set to get their first taste of Euro 2016 in England’s crunch clash with Slovakia tonight.

Roy Hodgson is expected to make six changes for the final Group B clash as the manager seeks fresh legs to guide England into the last 16.

Milner, Henderson and Clyne are among those tipped to make the line up in Saint-Etienne after being overlooked for the opening two matches.

Reds striker Daniel Sturridge, who was the hero with the late winner against Wales last Thursday, will be rewarded for his impact off the bench with his first start of the tournament.

Adam Lallana, who impressed against both Russia and Wales, is set to be retained, taking the number of Liverpool players in the starting XI to four.

Liverpool captain Henderson was a major doubt for the Euros after suffering knee ligament damage against Borussia Dortmund in April but he returned to fitness ahead of schedule prior to May’s Europa League final.

Henderson is expected to replace England captain Wayne Rooney, who will be rested against Slovakia.

Clyne will come in for Kyle Walker at right-back with Hodgson also bringing in Ryan Bertrand for Danny Rose.

Jamie Vardy and Jack Wilshere are also expected to start in what represents a gamble by the England boss. Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Dele Alli are set to be left out.

England need to beat Slovakia to guarantee top spot in Group B which would set up a last 16 game in Paris on Saturday and a potentially easier passage in the knock-out stage.

“It wouldn’t be a problem if I wanted to keep the same side, but there are players who would like to play and have been knocking on the door to play,” Hodgson said.

“I have the option because everyone is anxious to show what they want to do. It’s a question of what we’d like to do, rather than what is necessary.

“As for Jamie and Daniel, they did very well when they came on and would like another chance. We have options in those front positions. It’s a decision that has to be made.”
