TIAGO ILORI’S move from Liverpool to Reading is expected to be rubber-stamped this week.
The two clubs have agreed a £3.75m fee for the player. Reading sit third in the Championship and boss Jaap Stam wants Ilori to help bolster their promotion push.
London-born Ilori joined Liverpool for £7m from Sporting Lisbon in 2013 but hasn’t made much of an impression at Anfield and has made only three FA Cup appearances.
The Portugal U23 international has also had loan spells with Granada and Bordeaux ( where he scored one goal in 14 games for the Ligue 1 side) during his time at Liverpool having failed to make a first-team breakthrough under the previous manager, Brendan Rodgers.
However, the Reds stand to make a profit if he’s a hit at the Madejski Stadium.
Along with the £3.75m fee, Liverpool have inserted a 25 per cent sell-on clause in the deal, report Mail Online.
They add the transfer is expected to go through in the week ahead.
