Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed that the wonder goal of Eden Hazard against Arsenal reminded him of Barcelona and Brazil legend Ronaldinho.
The 26-year-old Belgian star was sensational in the Blues’ 3-1 impressive win over the Gunners and scored his side’s second goal in the 53rd minute at Stamford Bridge, following the opener from Marcos Alonso.
David Luiz was also praised for his solid performance against Arsene Wenger’s men but the defender highlighted the brilliance of Eden Hazard after the London derby.
During his post-match interview, Luiz praised his Belgian team-mate: ‘It was fantastic, it reminded me a bit of Ronaldinho – it was amazing.’
‘I love Eden’s talent and I love him as a person so I enjoy having this kind of person in my team.’
On the other side Hazard’s international manager, Roberto Martinez, was reminded of another Barcelona superstar Leo Messi after his performance vs Arsenal.
During his interview with Goal, Martinez said: ‘He reminds me a lot of Messi. Not many players can control the moment and take the defenders where you want to take them.
‘The way he uses the ball with his feet is sensational and what is surprising more than anything is his maturity.’
‘I think that Eden, at 26, is almost in the perfect moment of his career and the system that Chelsea plays, which is the same as we play in the national team, has really given him a new breath of life.’
