Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans that the Reds are ready to splash the cash on the “right” transfers this summer.
The Reds have endured something of a disappointing season so far but could still break back into the top four this term.
Klopp was tasked with steering Liverpool back to Champions League qualification after the Reds ended up eighth and without a trophy in his first season in charge.
The German watched his side be knocked out of both domestic cup competitions this season to leave the Reds with only a top-four finish to play for.
And the Liverpool manager, who was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ successor back in October 2015, readily admits that his side will need some strengthening in the summer transfer window.
Klopp is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “We still have to make the right transfers, but we will have to make transfers of course.
“If we perform at the highest level nobody asks for new players but if you don’t everybody asks for them. That is the situation we are in and we are working on it already. We will spend money in the summer.”
Liverpool’s next Premier League game is a home clash against Burnley on 12 March, before a showdown with Manchester City at The Etihad stadium.
