Popular bookmakers Paddy Power have installed Liverpool as new 15/8 favourites in the race to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.
The 20-year-old has been an absolute revelation since his move to Celtic Park in the summer and, with his stock continuously on the rise, he has scored 32 goals in 44 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Hoops hitman is one of the most highly sought-after youngsters on the planet, and is widely considered to be the most exciting striker under the age of 21 currently plying his trade in Europe.
And Paddy Power reckon Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool are leading the race to sign the Frenchman this summer.
They list them as clear 15/8 favourites, ahead of both Real Madrid and Chelsea at 4/1 and Bayern Munich at 7/1.
The former Fulham man’s talent is beyond question, but there is a train of thought that a move to a European super club this summer might just be too big a step, too soon in his career, and he might very well make more progress by staying in Glasgow for another season at least.
Whatever happens, Celtic are sure to make an incredible profit from Dembele, when and if they do sell him, having brought him into the club for just £500,000 in the summer of 2016.
