The German publication BILD reckons, that Liverpool are joined by Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus and Roma in making approaches for Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac and all have contacted the player’s representatives with offers
The 23-year-old sees his Schalke contract end in the summer and as such clubs can approach him and make offers, as they look to strike a bargain for a player with 5 assists and 3 goals in 19 Bundesliga starts this campaign.
Kolasinac would bolster the Merseysiders’ ranks significantly, as James Milner has filled in as Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice left-back throughout the season, and has largely impressed, but the 31-year-old is far from a long-term solution. And Alberto Moreno looks set to leave the club this summer after making just two starts in England’s top flight this term.
For Arsenal and Chelsea, the interest in Schalke ace also makes a lot of sense.
Arsene Wenger is searching fo a quality replacement for Kieran Gibbs, whose days at Emirates seems to be counted and first-choice left-back Nacho Monreal, who turns 32 in January, has been criticised for up and down performances this term.
At Chelsea, meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s utilisation of wing-backs would suit Kolasinac, and he’d provide ample competition to the summer signing Marcos Alonso, who has performed admirably on the left flank in 2016-17.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international is one of the best full-backs around. Physical, quick, scores, plays with heart on his sleeve and is a pivotal player for the Gelsenkirchen-based club.
Kolasinac currently earns around 2m euros (£1.74m) a season, and would reportedly triple his yearly salary packet depending on where he moves to next – a wage package that would be worth a massive £5.2m-a-year.
