Alvaro Morata is on the verge of leaving Real Madrid, paving the way for a €65million move to Chelsea, according to reports
The Royal club re-signed the Spanish international from Juventus last summer in a deal to take him through to 2022 and despite still wanting to stay at the Bernabeu, he has reportedly realised manager Zinedine Zidane isn’t convinced by him and ready to change a workplace in the summer.
Antonio Conte is believed to be a huge admirer of Morata, as the pair previously worked together at Turin club. And Spanish sport daily AS report that therefore Madrid are preapred to sell, with Chelsea named as a possible destination.
It would take a good offer for both club and player, and the transfer amount is suggested as €65m. And with Diego Costa’s future in doubt last summer with interest from Atletico Madrid, Chelsea boss again looked at the 24-year-old pupil as a replacement, only for neither move to materialise.
The Blues have been in blistering form this season and are on course to win the Premier League as they sit on a 10 point lead with just ten games to go.
Morata, in the Spanish La Liga, has scored eight goals this season, and registered two assists. He has a shot accuracy of 60%.
