Arsenal will demand £42 million for Hector Bellerin as Barcelona have made the full-back their top transfer target this summer, according to stories in Spain.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona and Manchester City want the 22-year-old, but the defender’s first-choice stop is his former club.
The report suggests that the Gunners have no intention of selling Bellerin, but if the player requests a transfer, they would rather let the left-back leave for Barcelona rather than City.
The defender is reportedly informed that he is Barcelona’s first-choice target to fill their right-back spot in the long term.
Mundo Deportivo also suggests that Bellerin’s possible move to Barcelona would be boosted if Frenchman is to leave Arsenal at the end of the campaign.
The full-back has a great relationship with the Frenchman, who gave him the way to becoming a first-team member at Arsenal just three seasons after joining as a 16-year-old from Barcelona.
“The loyalty to this person is worth more than money, it’s something critical to me,’ The Spain International said in March.
‘That he’s there carries a lot of weight for me. Any player would be flattered by interest from Barca. It’s the best club in the world, and that is very nice. The fact that I grew up in the Barca academy also makes this a bit more special, although for now I’m focused on these games and on the season, and the rest will come later.”
