Chelsea are interested in a summer move for Lazio defencive midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to reports in Italy
The Argentine international is entering the final 12 months of his contract in the Italian capital, with talks over a new deal yet to take place.
Lazio want to keep the experianced enforcer, but Calciomercato believe that Antonio Conte views the 31-year-old as an ideal addition to his squad.
The Italian tactician could face a battle for his signature, as Biglia has also been attracting interest from wealthy Chinese Super League clubs.
The former Anderlecht man is understood to be valued at around £30million by the Itaian club, who have climbed to fourth in Serie A after a fantastic run of form.
Biglia, made 23 appearances in Italy’s top flight this season, has scored three goals, creating 43 chances and two assists. He has also completed 1024 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 87%, of which 74% were forward passes.
The Lazio captain, who has over 60 appearances in European competition, could add real competition in the defensive midfield positions at Stamford Bridge and even if not a regular starter would be a more than capable back-up to the likes of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic.
