Barcelona have reportedly set a €30m evaluation of their highly sought after midfielder Rafinha, after Liverpool apparently ‘asked’ about signing him.
Many clubs have been linked with a move for the Brazilian, including AS Roma along with Juventus. But now, according to Sport Witness, Jurgen Klopp has gone one step further and actively enquired about the availability of Rafinha.
Despite his talent being recognised by current club Barcelona, all parties know that his chances of regular first team action are slim due to the incredible quality that the Blaugarana hold.
As a result, Rafinha is looking for a way out of Camp Nou in order to find a regular first team spot that would make him more likely to be brought into the spotlight ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique was supposedly a huge fan of Rafinha, but his departure from the Catalan club has only fuelled speculation of the 24-year-old’s exit.
The €30m asking price would definitely be affordable for Liverpool, although the Merseyside club may still try and bring that down; regardless of the cost, Liverpool are said to have a good chance of signing Rafinha if they wanted to.
Liverpool’s Champions League qualification would also interest the Brazilian, and their fourth place finish in the Premier League will help draw bigger players to Anfield.
Rafinha is only one of the many players that Liverpool are likely to be linked with over the course of the next few months. As the financial power of the English top flight grows, the big six in the Premier League are expected to invest heavily in the summer transfer window in order to push for next season’s title.
